OUR CLASSES

Nanda Yoga provides yoga classes for students aged 6 weeks to 12 years as well as teen, family and prenatal yoga. Classes are created based on the developmental needs for each age range and will provide an integrated learning experience that your child will love! In addition to teaching traditional yoga, we incorporate sensory play, process art, Wobbelyoga and aerial yoga.

WOBBELYOGA

Wobbelyoga combines the best of yoga with all the possibilities the Wobbel has to offer. The Wobbel, is a Waldorf inspired balance board made in the Netherlands from sustainably harvested European beech wood. Thanks to the movement of the board, the yoga poses become more challenging and the adventures even more fun! By incorporating the Wobbel Board into our classes children are able to work on their strength and balance in a more creative and playful way. The rhythmic movements on the Wobbel calm the body and mind while boosting strength, body awareness and confidence. After class yogis step off of their Wobbel full of pride and excitement! Are you ready to Wobbel with us?!

AERIAL YOGA

Aerial Yoga is a unique and playful form of yoga that incorporates traditional poses, Pilates and dance with the use of suspended silk hammocks.  It offers numerous physical, emotional, mental, cognitive, and social benefits for children. The support from the hammock allows children to safely explore different poses and inversions which can help develop their balance, core strength, flexibility and coordination. The sensation of being suspended in the air provides a sense of freedom and adventure, allowing children to create unique forms of movement. Overall, Aerial yoga provides a calming sensory experience that provides children with both vestibular (the sensation of any change in position, direction, or movement of the head) and proprioceptive input (sensation of movement, compression, and traction in a child’s joints and muscles) that helps to calm their central nervous system.
